BLUFFTON, S.C. (July 16, 2026) — Bluffton Township Fire District Captain Brandon Stevenson was recently recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for achieving 20 consecutive years of National EMS Certification. This distinction is an honor held by few EMS professionals.
To maintain his status as a Nationally Registered EMT, Stevenson completed, on a biennial basis, the most comprehensive recertification program for EMS professionals in America.
By maintaining his National EMS Certification and completing regular continuing education courses, Stevenson has demonstrated his commitment to providing exceptional prehospital emergency medical care.
Stevenson was nationally registered as an EMT-Basic in 2006. He joined Bluffton Township Fire District on Aug. 2, 2003, and has spent his entire career with the district. He was promoted to Senior Firefighter B in 2007, Senior Firefighter C in 2008, Lieutenant in 2010, Fire Captain in 2012, and Station Captain in 2020.
Throughout his career, Stevenson has served on the district’s Hiring Committee, Fire Investigations team, Safety Committee, Honor Guard, and Combat Challenge Team. He currently serves as Station Captain of Station 37, the district’s Palmetto Bluff station.
