Bluffton, SC (November 14, 2025) – The Bluffton Township Fire District is proud to recognize Senior Fire Inspector Jason Lee for earning the International Code Council (ICC) Master Code Professional (MCP) certification, the highest level of achievement in the code profession.
The Master Code Professional designation is regarded as the “gold standard” for demonstrating proficiency and technical expertise in the field of code enforcement. With this certification, Lee joins an elite group of professionals worldwide whose dedication to safety and excellence strengthens both their communities and the code enforcement profession.
To earn the ICC Master Code Professional designation, candidates must first pass 10 core ICC exams and several elective exams. Typical Master Code Professionals hold 17 or more ICC certifications and must complete 60 hours of continuing education every three years to maintain active status.
Lee joined the Bluffton Township Fire District in January 2022 and serves within the Fire Prevention Division. His accomplishment demonstrates the Fire District’s continued commitment to professional excellence and advancing the safety and well-being of the Bluffton community.
“The Master Code Professional certification is the pinnacle of all ICC certifications, representing a level of effort, knowledge, and dedication that elevates not only the individual achieving it, but the code official profession as a whole,” said Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO.
The ICC Master Code Professional certification represents exceptional skill, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to upholding safety standards within the built environment.
