Sharing Timely, Accurate Information That Builds Trust and Strengthens Public Safety

The Bluffton Township Fire District is committed to open, transparent communication with our community and media partners. We believe effective media relations and proactive public outreach are essential to delivering on our mission of public safety.

Whether responding to breaking news or supporting community education efforts, our Public Information Officer (PIO) plays a vital role in connecting the Fire District with the public.

What We Do

The Public Information Officer:

  • Serves as the main media contact for BTFD
  • Prepares and distributes all official news releases
  • Coordinates interview and media requests
  • Organizes press conferences and media events
  • Manages BTFD’s social media platforms
  • Assists with public presentations and outreach projects

We aim to provide fair, accurate, and timely information in a professional manner.

A Public Information Officer is on-call outside of business hours for major breaking news. While real-time details may not always be immediately available, we will respond with verified information as soon as possible.
