Protecting Homes, One Alarm at a Time
Request Free Smoke Alarm Assistance
The Bluffton Township Fire District is proud to offer free smoke alarm assistance to residents living within our service area. Our Community Risk Reduction (CRR) team provides smoke alarm installations and safety checks to help keep your home protected.
Appointments are generally scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional appointments may be available depending on staff availability. Once you submit your request, a member of our team will contact you to coordinate a convenient date and time.
Please allow at least 48 hours for a response. Requests submitted on weekends or holidays may take longer. We appreciate your patience.
Important Information About Smoke Alarm Installations:
The Fire District does not provide electrical services and cannot install or replace hardwired smoke alarm systems.
We can assist with installing battery-operated smoke alarms or alarms that plug into compatible wired adapters (as long as no rewiring is required).
At this time, we do not provide free interconnected alarm systems, but we’re happy to assist with installation if you purchase one that meets our compatibility guidelines.
If your alarms are part of a monitored security system (e.g., ADT or similar), we are unable to service or replace those devices.
Not sure what to buy? Our team can provide a list of recommended smoke alarms that meet current safety standards and are easy to install without an electrician.
