Bluffton Township Fire District Concludes 2024 with Record Response Numbers

Bluffton, SC – (January 6, 2025) – The Bluffton Township Fire District (BTFD) wrapped up 2024 with an impressive total of 10,801 incidents, marking an increase from 10,672 in 2023. December alone accounted for 951 calls.

The majority of calls in 2024 were for medical emergencies (6,917), followed by fire-related incidents (167) and hazardous conditions (136). The Fire District’s busiest stations were Station 34, responding to 2,588 calls, and Station 38, with 2,078 calls.

The Office of the Fire Marshal also had a productive year, completing 3,517 inspections and conducting 32 fire investigations, further demonstrating the District’s commitment to community safety and fire prevention.

“The men and women of the Bluffton Township Fire District continue to rise to the challenges of a growing community with professionalism and dedication,” said Fire Chief Paul Boulware. “Our increased call volume reflects the trust our residents place in us, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting lives and property in Bluffton and the surrounding service area.”
