Five Beaufort County Public Safety Agencies to Host Joint Recruiting Open House May 2

BLUFFTON, S.C. (April 28, 2026) – Five Beaufort County public safety agencies will gather at the Bluffton Township Fire District Training Center on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a multi-agency recruiting open house. The event is free, requires no registration, and is open to anyone interested in a career in public safety.

Attendees can speak directly with recruiters and personnel from each participating agency to learn about career paths, current job openings, hiring requirements and timelines, and training and advancement opportunities. The event covers careers in fire, emergency medical services, law enforcement, and corrections.

Participating agencies include:

  • Bluffton Township Fire District
  • Town of Bluffton Police Department
  • Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office
  • Beaufort County EMS
  • Beaufort County Detention Center

The Fire District is recruiting additional personnel in preparation for the opening of Station 39, which will serve the Sun City community. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027. “Public safety in Beaufort County is a team effort, and we are proud to coordinate with our partner agencies and connect with the next generation of first responders,” said Fire Chief David Hindman. “If you have ever considered a career in any of these professions, Saturday is the day to come find out what it looks like up close.”

The event is open to first-time job seekers, those considering a career change, and anyone who wants to learn more about public safety. No registration is required. Attendees may stop by at any time during the event.
