Rehill

The Operations Division contains the largest personnel group in the Bluffton Township Fire District (BTFD). Personnel in this division operate from 9 stations and are divided into two geographic battalions. Battalion 35 is comprised of 1 command vehicle, 3 engines, 1 quint, 1 brush truck, 1 truck company, and one heavy rescue. Battalion 38 is comprised of 1 command vehicle, 5 engines, 1 tender, and 1 service vehicle.

Operations team members are assigned to one of three 24-hours shifts. Each shift is comprised of Battalion Chiefs, Company Officers, Driver Operators, and Firefighters.  The Assistant Chief of Operations leads the group and supervises 6 line Battalion Chiefs and the Battalion Chief of Training. 

The core responsibility of the Operations Division is to deliver fire, rescue, EMS and special hazards mitigation services to the residents and visitors of the fire district, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Special operations is a group within the Operations Division comprised of personnel who cross-staff the department’s hazardous materials response team, technical rescue team, wildland urban interface, and honor guard.

The Operations Division also provides support to the Fire Marshal Division’s fire prevention/community outreach programs and the Training Division’s programs.
