ISO Classification

The Bluffton Township Fire District has an Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating of 2/2X.

The criteria per the ISO evaluation of 2019 indicates that,

• Any property within the Bluffton Township Fire District that is within five road miles of a Bluffton fire station and within 1000 feet of a fire hydrant is a PPC 2.
• Any property within five road miles but does not have a fire hydrant or other recognized source of water for fire protection within 1000 feet is a PPC 2X.
• Any property between five and seven road miles of a fire station with a recognized source of water for fire protection is a PPC 10W.
• Any property outside of seven road miles whether it has a water distribution system for fire protection or not is a PPC ten.

In the ISO rating system a lower score indicates better fire protection and subsequently lower property insurance premiums. The baseline information given above is the current situation that ISO uses for their assumptions.
