Bluffton, SC (April 17, 2024) – Bluffton Township Fire District is proud to announce its participation in the upcoming Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters event, scheduled to take place from May 1st to May 5th, 2024. This event, organized by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, aims to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the foundation's establishment and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters is a nationwide initiative that brings together thousands of fire departments, businesses, and residents across the United States. The event encourages participants to illuminate their homes, buildings, and landmarks in red as a symbol of remembrance and honor for the firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Since its inception, Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters has grown to include fire departments and families from all walks of life, joining together to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have lost their lives while serving their communities in the fire service.

In the spirit of unity and remembrance, firefighters from Bluffton Township Fire District will be actively engaging with local business leaders and community members over the next two weeks to invite them to join us in illuminating their premises with red lights during the event. It's important to note that no donations are being requested by our firefighters.
